"Many touch receptors combine to produce what we call a twinge. Consider all the varieties of pain, irritation, abrasion; all the textures of lick, pat, wipe, fondle, knead; all the prickling, bruising, tingling, brushing, scratching, banging, fumbling, kissing, nudging." - A Natural History of the Senses

With this piece, I tried to combine the concepts of pain and texture. I pierced the paper in order to create the holes and tearing, and I rubbed pastels over the holes in order to convey a sense of great pain and irritation.
