The outside of the box was painted in black and white and given a texture to emulate wood grain and/or the chaos of a tornado. When the box is opened, it is full of glitter and color. This was done to mimic the part of the film that switches from black and white to Technicolor.

The little badges themselves are made from various fabrics, and all of the parts in the middle are made from air dry clay. They are made to represent (from left to right) Dorothy, Glinda, the Wicked Witch of the West, the Scarecrow, the Tin Man, and the Cowardly Lion. I tried making badges based on the character's story arcs, physical attributes, or just aesthetics.
